How are transfers for .eu domains handled?
Posted by Phil (Netcetera) on 26 March 2010 03:56 PM

.eu domain name transfers function the same as transfers for most other TLDs, with the following exceptions:

A transfer means that the registrant contact information will not be changing, only the registrar will.

If the registrant isn't changing, then the current owner needs to respond to both emails. Essentially the gaining or losing registrar is not involved; the transfer is administered by EURid.

.eu domain names use Authorization Codes and please keep in mind that the expiration date is extended one year from the transfer or trade and not from the existing expiration date.

We do NOT accept domains in `quarantine` status
